This is my 1st year playing in RH and I'm curious... If the umpire is late, or hasn't been booked, when they do show for our game, shouldn't we get to play the full time allotted, not the abbriviated version. If we were 15 - 30 minutes late, I'm pretty sure we would forefeit the game (and maybe a fine? not sure about the fine). I've currently played 3 games and the ump has been late 2 of 3 games (approx. 60 minutes on May 29th and 15 minutes June 12th). I hope this is an anomaly and not a regular occurence.

Michael,

Yes, you are entitled to play the full game if the umpire is tardy. On May 29, we had a scheduling mix up because of the 11:30 am start time. Yesterday, and for the next few weeks, because of the rain outs, we have had to add make up games to the umpires' schedules. Even this evening I started umping my own game because the umpire assigned was going to be 15 minutes late.

I will reinforce to the umpires that because they are the cause of the late start of a game that the teams are not to be penalized. Unfortunately, the games following will have to start late too.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention because we still have a number of weeks that we have to do make up games.

Thanks for clarifying Marshall.
