I'm wondering EXACTLY what are the jewellery rules for players at bat.
It's my understanding that if a player arrives in the batter's box wearing (solid or metal) jewellery that he will be called out immediately.
Suppose he's not? Suppose the batter is able to hit a homerun with runners on base and upon crossing the plate, he's found with jewellery. What occurs then?

Unfortunately, the discovery of the jewellery was too late for the 'at bat' thus he was not called out then.
After hitting the home run and then the discovery is made, say when he was crossing the safe line, then he would be called out but the runs count.
I will continue to impress the jewellery rule on the umpires. But many times, a player is wearing a necklace which we cannot see when he comes to the plate because it is not exposed and then because he is running, it now pops out.
Tough call.
